Chantal's Story

So first and foremost I am a mother of 3. 10 year old daughter and 3 year old twins who are almost always accompanying me to the gym and were even upset that they were not included in my membership photo! I am also a military wife with my husband currently deployed to Afghanistan, this being our 3rd deployment but first with the Army Reserves. Next most important would be my passion for helping people and education. I've followed many interesting vocations including exotic animal training, child education, diesel racing, testing administration, and now even real estate, but I am and forever will be most passionate about massage therapy and bodywork! I really love to nerd out with anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, even cellular biology because I find it fascinating and I've found perfect bodies to work on through Crossfit!

I heard about CFB from my husband, who reluctantly tried it because he was focusing more on lifting than his cardio and he needed to incorporate both to be able to perform best for an upcoming PT test with the military. He said Yurii sold him on it because he was a power lifter too and made him feel welcomed. So my husband told me I should do Crossfit while he's deployed because he knows I like to do and try new things (the last deployment I was heavily into MMA and jiu jitsu) because it helps keep me physically and mentally occupied.
My first day....was a lot like death....but also still a lot like every day! And that's what I do love about Crossfit, it will be challenging each day but in different ways. The workouts are a dynamic mix of strength, endurance, cardio, skill, and even strategy, but there are always options and scales for everything!

What don't I love about Crossfit Billings?! Seriously, it has been my saving grace and sanity preserver during this deployment! The atmosphere, the people, the flexibility, the fact that my kids love it and look forward to it! I also love that CFB people are so encouraging, understanding, and helpful!
